Greg Hancock, double World Speedway Champion, Legend, and all round good guy approaches the later stages of the season with a self-proclaimed positive mental attitude. It has been a season of highs and lows for the Californian rider, “I have kept my mind heavily on the game and we are building momentum all the time” said Greg. After returning from a serious concussion Greg has had little rest, competing in the Swedish, Polish and World, Championships. He has also been riding in the United Kingdom for the Poole Pirates after their captain Chris Holder was forced to take a leave of absence due to injury.
In the polish league the season has been cut short, team Polonia Bydgoszcz who Greg rides for have had a difficult season and failed to qualify for the playoffs.
On the other hand in the Swedish Elite League Greg’s team has been successful in qualifying for the playoffs and face their next opponent on September 3rd, a win will see them advance to the finals and a shot at gold!
Greg has returned to the British Elite league in world class form. The Pirates are still in contention for the playoffs by the slimmest of margins and need a win against the lakeside hammers tonight (02/09/2013) to get through. A shock defeat last time out against the Swindon Robins may have put them on the back foot ahead of tonight’s event, but the Pirates are nothing if not fighters.
The last round of the Speedway Grand Prix saw Greg take a spectacular win, “We pulled out a great win in Latvia recently and dominated the event from the first start” said Greg. “The team has continued to work hard with my equipment to improve the ride and performance of the bikes for me. That is paying off.” Greg has his eye firmly on the podium and looks forward to the final round on the 5th of October.
Outside of racing Greg is committed to staying involved with Motorsport and Speedway, he has introduced a range of maintenance aerosols for more information: Hancock Aerosols
